Learning Danish primarily to read my collection of Danish books, which has some really nice books as part of it. Currently working my way through the Danish translation of Lord of the Rings, it's really helpful to read something I already know really well in English. I'm about halfway through ! After that, probably Andersen's fairly tales, then I have some history books and poetry and novels also. I'm here on this site because I also ideally would like to be able to understand what people are saying too - even though I can read OK by now, I pick up very little dialogue in movies and tv shows, etcetera, unless I have the subtitles. I have done the same thing with several other languages too (Danish is #8, including my native English), but I am really liking a lot of things about Danish that is making it my favorite foreign language sofar.
